Day One

Merry New Year to All. It seems as if everyone is very happy that 2009 has come to an end and we have begun a new decade. I don’t recall any big upset in 2009…well only one…the not getting accepted into dental school. Ugh…the biggest upset of my life thus far. Anywho, the new year has begun and thus my food blog has as well.

There will be no pictures today thanks to my stupidness.

I started of the day with a Myoplex Lite Shake. It is essentially a protein shake with a ton of protein, vitamins and fiber. Not too exciting but a normal start to my day.

Lunch was pretty boring as well today. I had the most amazing salsa ever…Bean Salsa from Betty’s Country Store in Helen, GA. Basically it is the best salsa ever made. It’s a combination of sweet and spicy and just comes together to form perfection. I had it with some Tostitos Scoops Chips. The chips are nothing to great. My favorite chips were the Tostitos Gold Chips that I have not been able to find in store in quite a long time.

At around 4pm, I baked a Duncan Hines Yellow Cake. So, of course, I liked the spoon. Then I also had a bite of banana bread that I got at a place called Fresh Market. Delish as well.

For dinner, we had good friends over (hehe…inside joke), Jena and Mariann. Mommy and me made steak (one half marinated in Italian dressing and the other half marinated in a combination of terryaki, liquid smoke, Montreal Steak, salt, pepper and olive oil), broccoli, corn, spinach souffle, loaded baked potato, pumpernickel bread and salad. Of that, I ate three servings of broccoli, three servings of corn, a salad with honey mustard dressing, two slices of pumpernickel bread and two servings of loaded baked potato. Everything was really really good. I cooked the steak on my Cuisinart Griddler. The Griddler is one of my favorite things to cook on. The only thing I don’t love about it is the fact I cook with it on our patio and have to travel back and forth from the kitchen to patio. But beyond that, it is great.

I had a slice of the yellow cake I made for dessert. I frosted it with milk chocolate icing and warmed my slice up in the microwave for 10 seconds. Was great. I baked it in three 8 inch rounds. About the time I was eating cake, I realized that I forgot to take pictures of dinner. Urgh! So upset. I made so much good food and wasted it all away due to the fact that I forgot to take pictures. What a loser I am.

So, day one has come and gone. Day two will most certainly be accompanied with pictures. Hopefully this visit to Grandma’s Backyard will make you wanting to come back for more tomorrow. The lack of pictures def weakened the bouquet.

Peace.
